The anatomy and physiology course is designed to give the student an overview and experience of the human body as it pertains to massage. The format for the class is lecture. Visual presentation are made including the use of charts, overhead transparencies, filmstrips and slides, and a skeleton. Students will learn terminology, and locations of the structures in the 11 body systems, as well as, their function and integration in health and disease. Focus will be on the endocrine, skeletal and muscular systems.

On Semester II the focus of study will continue with the remaining systems which include: circulatory, neurological, digestive, respiratory, lymphatic, immune, reproductive and urinary. Patho-physiology terminology, structure, and function will be covered. The lecture format will be expanded upon by the use of charts, a skeleton, overhead transparencies, film strips and slides
